Our Vision

Through Power Line, it is Sara Hayes’ vision to provide an environment within which female athletes are inspired to excel. By hiring the top coaches and advisors in sport, Power Line provides athletes, families, teams, and coaches access to the highest level of training and mentoring available. Since 2008, Power Line coaches and advisors have hailed from Notre Dame, DePaul, University of San Diego, Oklahoma, Oregon State, University of Washington, Monmouth, Colgate, Campbell, SDSU, Nebraska Kearney, Coastal Carolina, Boston U, U of Chicago, and Northwestern. In order to mentor young athletes and to effectively assist them through the college recruiting process, Power Line’s staff of coaches and advisors exemplify a number of pillars on which this vision is held: be determined, exude strength, strive to achieve, positively represent, expand awareness, practice “game day”, make no excuses, and seek to inspire.

Power Line coaches have high expectations for the results we garner. In order to reach advanced levels of play, our Power Line athletes must train their muscle memory and mental skills consistently. We aim to work with dedicated athletes and coaches who seek to approach their skill development with inspiration and commitment.  We are proud to say that since 2008, through this philosophy, hundreds of Power Line athletes have earned the opportunity to play for the highest levels of club teams and college programs, and proven very successful in these arenas.

Our Story

In 2008, Power Line Consulting was founded to provide an environment within which female athletes are inspired to excel. In her 13 years of Division 1 top 25 college coaching, Sara recognized that there was something missing in the training and mentoring of young female athletes.  With the expertise of college coaching, Sara set out to establish a business that was all for girls – to develop skill at the highest level, to offer exceptional coaching and mentoring, to include sport performance and mental performance coaching in each athlete’s training, to teach the college recruiting process ethically and effectively so that athletes find that unique college fit that they aspire to find, and to provide amazing professional career opportunities for college graduated athletes.

In 2008 and 2009, Power Line was mobile, expanding connections through out San Diego and developing a national name for our college recruiting program.

In January 2010, Power Line opened one of the top training facilities in the country. Housed in Kearney Mesa, our facility trained athletes and teams from Portland to New Jersey, and every community in San Diego. Power Line hosted hundreds of college batting practices including the University of Washington, Oklahoma, Fresno State, Florida, the Peruvian National Team, the USA National Team, USSSA Pride, and more.  Between 2010 to 2016, Power Line trained thousands of athletes from all across the country and placed over 120 athletes into the great college softball programs.  Power Line owner was Sara Hayes was honored by the National Fastpitch Coached Association, when asked to speak at the San Antonio NFCA College Coaches Convention about the Power Line philosophy and her successful sports business development.

In 2015, Power Line changed its name from Power Line Consulting to Power Line Athletics and in 2016, Power Line Athletics decided to resume its mobile philosophy, providing the opportunity for our skill development coaches to reach more athletes within their communities and for our recruiting advisors to be able to travel nationally. Since 2016, Power Line has offered skill development lessons, clinics, team practices, and camps in locations from Wildomar to Bonita, and Carlsbad to Lakeside, and  Power Line Advisors have traveled through-out California, Arizona, Nevada, Utah, Colorado, Florida, and Oklahoma to provide college bound athletes and teams recruiting support and advocacy.

In 2020, Power Line added a number of online services, so this year we became truly national, serving athletes across the United States including Northern California, Texas, Iowa, Illinois, Hawaii, and Canada.

We have high expectations for the results we garner. Since 2008, we have trained thousands of athletes and have assisted hundreds in achieving their dream of playing college softball. We are grateful to the families and coaches who have entrusted their athletes into our programs and look forward to our athletes’ and teams’ continued success in the years to come.
